I've been doing a bit of reading recently. Have you ever read the Unbearable Lightness of Being, by Milan Kundera? It's a classic. Impossible love, lust, identity and self in the Prague Spring. Sexy, lyrical, and tragic, its got it all.
The 1988 movie of the same name with a young Daniel Day-Lewis, Juliette Binoche, and Lena Olin is also pretty wonderful.
Also read recently, Await Your Reply by Dan Chaon. A page turner with three seemingly unrelated stories that find their way together in a fascinating look into what is identity today. Identities are lost, created and stolen in this gripping book.
